Dynasty startup draft strategy means building a roster from zero with your league’s scoring, roster size, taxi rules, and pick-trading culture already in mind. - Late rounds + taxi: asymmetric upside; do not “complete a redraft roster” with aging depth you will cut in October
- Pick trading: move back only when the value is real; startup rooms overpay for shiny names and underprice future seconds
Win-now vs rebuild from pick one
You do not have to declare a full rebuild in a startup. You do need a contention window. Stack a core that can compete within two seasons, then use taxi and future picks for the third. All-rookie starts look smart on Twitter and lonely in the standings.
After the draft: clean up with one value scale
